IMMERSIVE HIGH-RISE DINING
Location: Downtown Chicago
Setting: 65th floor high-rise
Experience: Private seated dinner for 24 guests
What began as an unfinished construction floor was transformed into an intimate, immersive environment designed to host a highly confidential, high-profile private dinner.
The space was raw. Exposed walls, unfinished flooring, and active construction defined the room. The expectation was the opposite. The environment needed to feel intentional, refined, and unforgettable.
The Challenge
The client requested a seated dinner experience for a small group of globally recognized leaders and cultural figures. Due to the nature of the guest list, discretion, security, and flawless execution were non-negotiable.
The space itself offered no visual warmth. No finishes. No character. Just a blank canvas sixty-five floors above the city.
Every element needed to be designed, transported, and installed within strict security protocols and a tight timeline.

The Approach
FLORALXM transformed the construction site into a fully realized environment by building the experience from the ground up.
Walls were completely wrapped in layered foliage, softening the industrial structure and enclosing the space in greenery. A temporary floral marketplace was created within the room, allowing guests to feel surrounded by texture, color, and life.
To anchor the space:
• A five-foot chandelier was installed overhead
• Candles were placed throughout the perimeter to create warmth and intimacy
• Layered Indian rugs were used to cover the unfinished floors
• A graffiti artist hand-painted oversized floral artwork directly onto the exposed walls, turning the construction surface into a living mural
Every element was brought up to the 65th floor, coordinated alongside heavy security measures, including street closures and controlled access managed by security teams.

The Result
The final environment felt worlds away from its original state. What had been an unfinished floor became a private garden suspended above the city.
Guests entered into a space that felt intentional, immersive, and calm. The transformation allowed the evening to unfold seamlessly, with the design supporting conversation, privacy, and presence.
The experience demonstrated how thoughtful floral design, paired with strategic production planning, can redefine a space entirely.

Why This Matters
This project reflects FLORALXM’s ability to operate at the intersection of creativity, logistics, and trust. Designing for high-profile environments requires more than aesthetics. It demands precision, adaptability, and confidence in execution.
From blank canvas to finished experience, every detail was considered
